Yes. Many crates include adjustable divider panels. Buy the adult size and reduce the space with the divider. Too much room for a puppy can make house training more difficult.
Adult dogs should stay no longer than 4-6 hours at a time, puppies only 1-3 hours depending on age. The crate should be a safe retreat, not confinement. Extended crating causes anxiety and behavioral issues.
