The Hungarian Vizsla travelled with the Magyars into the Pannonian Plain roughly 1,000 years ago and is today the only natural pointing breed in golden russet. After World War II it nearly went extinct and was rebuilt from about twelve surviving dogs. Today it impresses with 25 kilos of athletic build, very high energy levels and excellent trainability. The downside: it is a textbook velcro dog and suffers when left alone. Are you ready for a hunting dog that wants to follow you into the bathroom?
