Guarding properties or herds has always been one of the tasks of dogs. Large dog breeds in particular are ideal as guard dogs due to their stature and dominance. Guard dogs are characterized by vigilance, intelligence and a healthy distrust of strangers – qualities that make them excellent protectors against burglars and other dangers.
