Calculate the optimal raw feeding amount for your dog based on BARF principles
Calculate the optimal raw feeding amount for your dog based on weight, breed, activity, and neutering status
BARF requires careful planning! This calculation is based on the 80/20 rule (80% animal components, 20% plant components). Consult a nutrition-specialized veterinarian or nutritionist, especially for puppies and sick dogs. The daily ration accounts for fasting days, the weekly ration shows the total amount for shopping planning.
The general guideline is 2-3% of body weight per day. A 25-kg dog gets 500-750 g of raw food daily. Puppies, lactating females, and very active dogs may need 4-6%. Our calculator factors in age, activity level, and neutering status.
80% animal-based ingredients (50% muscle meat, 20% tripe/green tripe, 15% organ meat, 15% raw meaty bones) and 20% plant-based ingredients (75% vegetables, 25% fruit). Oils and supplements complete the nutritional profile.
Raw feeding works for most healthy adult dogs. It is not recommended for dogs with compromised immune systems, severe kidney or liver disease, or unsupervised puppies. Raw bones are risky for dogs with dental issues.
